Tara works in a dynamic, multi-environment setting that includes both office and industrial spaces, with a primary focus on monitoring and advising on health, safety, and environmental policies. Her work week runs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and involves traveling between office and site locations. Tara’s responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, training staff on QHSE protocols, and advising teams on safety measures in high-risk areas, particularly in shop and yard environments where equipment is frequently in use.

Tara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Memorial University and completed the Occupational Health & Safety program at the College of the North Atlantic. Her high school studies in biology, chemistry, and physics laid the groundwork for her post-secondary education, while her early involvement in youth groups and clubs honed her leadership and public speaking abilities. These experiences and her innate desire to help people drew her to a career dedicated to safeguarding health and safety.

Each day, Tara focuses on a range of QHSE tasks, from conducting site inspections and risk assessments to organizing safety training sessions. Her role requires close attention to the shop and yard areas, where she works to identify potential hazards and ensure that all equipment and processes adhere to strict safety standards. Additionally, she collaborates with other departments to uphold health and safety protocols, playing an essential role in minimizing risks and fostering a safe workplace culture.
